Sounds like an evening at Worm's house... :-D

:thumbleft:

The Who rocks....

The Beatles, The Who and Pink Floyd started the idea of THE concept album....whereby the album is unified by a theme that can be conceptual, compositional, narrative or lyrical...as opposed to Brittney Spears, The Jonas Sisters, Madonna or Taylor Swift singing a 2.5 minute little ditty about who are they are dating this week..

and yeah...they've gotten old...and none of the young guys on here got to see a buff, charismatic Roger Daltrey making wussy cute "rocker" John Mayer look like a "Fifth Ave. Faggot"...or Pete Townshend jumping five feet in the air while playing his guitar windmill style, then smashing it to smithereens at the end of the act..

RIP Keith Moon and John Entwhistle..

Ringo's kid does an alright job backing them on drums. I liked that Pete still does his windmill and the stage was awesome.

No, the all time low was "Justina" Timberlake and that fiasco, followed closely by the corporate sellout has-been Bruce Springsteen.
U2 was the best in my opinion.

As far as The Who, it was great to see them. How can you not like one of the biggest iconic Rock bands ever? "Baba O'Reilly" still is the opening riff standard. Their performance was not the greatest by The Who standards, but you're talking about a twelve minute halftime performance.
Roger Daltrey was not exactly too happy with the performance either...

That wasn't The Who. The Who included Keith Moon and John Entwistle. The group at the Super Bowl was one step away from being a geriatric Who tribute band.

Well Duh ! No kidding...Thanks

Rarely...and I really mean rarely do great rock groups survive intact over the course of their career...they either go solo, quit and form another band or die...Unfortunately, as you thankfully informed everyone, the band we saw at halftime was only 2 of the 4 original band...Thunder Fingers died within the last 5 years but Moon's been dead since the late 70's...The Who can still rock...top 2 or 3 I've ever seen... :notworthy:

p.s. Thunder Fingers wrote very few songs as did Daltry...Townsend wrote most of their songs and he was on stage...Daltry was their main lead singer and he was on stage...Didn't suck like some halftimes IMO... 8-)
